Description
With almost 3,000 square feet of living space and a 2 acre manicured yard on the Gunnison river, "Diamond On The River" is indeed a special vacation property. This home couldn't be more comfortable with 4 bedrooms, 4 baths, 2 living areas, and a fabulous setting right on the river. Located at the end of the road, this oasis property has it all for your next family vacation! The owners have gone out of their way to provide a true Colorado retreat.
Upon entering through the family room, you immediately get the sense that relaxation won't be a problem on this trip! With a large flat panel television, seating for the whole family, views out to the river, a game table and shuffleboard, this room sets the tone for the whole home. There is a brand new full bath in this room for convenience or the dedicated use of one of the guest bedrooms down the hall.
Leave the family room and you will find two bedrooms and another full bathroom. One guest bedroom has a queen size bed and the other has another queen bed and also a daybed/trundle combo.
The end of the hall opens into the great room with new rock fireplace and inset flat panel TV. With vaulted ceilings and trophy mounts from a lifetime of hunting, this room is the definition of comfortable. The kitchen is open with a pass through to the great room so everyone is involved when the family gathers. Around the corner is the dining room with seating for 10 and a wall of picture windows which look out to the backyard and over the river.
Upstairs you will find a third bedroom with queen sleigh bed and it's own en-suite bath, along with, the master bedroom with king bed and huge master bath featuring dual vanities, jetted tub, and an oversized glass shower. This room has a multitude of windows which overlook the expansive backyard and the river.
Outside you will find a large deck with seating, a gas grill, horseshoe pit and even a tree house cottage for the little ones to play in. So, take a seat in the brightly colored Adirondack chairs overlooking the river and let life slow down for a while at Diamond on the River!

Your entire staff, especially Annie & Jennifer were very helpful and provided many suggestions on restaurants, activities and surrounding attractions even though we have been vacationing in CB/Gunnison for many years, they were very accommodating!

Our stay was perfect and memorable! Denise and I bring our entire family each year to the CB/Gunnison area and typically have stayed on the mountain.
We are an outdoor family, and love the experience of hiking, horseback riding, float trips, fly fishing and foodies!
Being on the River with the outdoor setting and huge lawn and play house, our three grandchildren were in daily heaven!
Reading a book or just reflecting on the surroundings, quiet solitude on the riverfront Adirondack Chairs was the answer!
Listening to the River flow was a perfect background for relaxing, serenity and well rested nights after a day full of activities!
We will definitely return next year and years to follow as long as this property is available thru the owners and Ironhorse!

Diamond on the River is an exceptional property. It was stocked with more than we've ever found in any other vacation rental. The activity room with the shuffle board was a delight. The cased opening looking into the kitchen was a hovering spot for those not involved with the cooking. The home met our needs very well.

Wow! What an amazing time we had! The place was perfect for our family vacation. My two year old son loved the playhouse and toys. We all enjoyed the amenities and home. Perfect layout for a groups of friends to spend a few days away from home. Everyone got their own space with the bedroom layout and also had a great time gathered together in the two family areas. Crested Butte was only a short 20 minute drive up the road, perfect place for skiing!! Can't wait to experience summer activities in our next visit!

We were 2 families each with 3 teenage sons. The house was great. Well equipped kitchen and 4 bathrooms were great. The boys enjoyed the snow filled yard and the river. It was a 40 min drive on winter roads from the house to ski parking lot. The price and nice home definitely made the drive worth it. We loved skiing and snowboarding Crested Butte. We plan to return in the winter ski season again and hope to also return for summer fly fishing and hiking in the area.

We had great fun using the play house and sandbox in the back yard. Across the street, there is a pond where the kids and Granddad fished and caught 4 rainbow trout over a couple of days. It was a fun, relaxing time on the river. We also rafted the Gunnison, and went right by the house. We hope to be back next year, and enjoy the cool weather over our two weeks in Colorado on the Gunnison River again.

We stayed a little over a week in Gunnison at your lovely home. It is so beautiful on the Gunnison River. This year we brought our bikes to enjoy the dirt roads. The space your home provides both inside and out in the yard is so fabulous. We enjoy spending our August out of the Texas Heat and at your lovely rental. ps the beds are really comfortable. Sometimes rentals provide less than comfortable mattresses. Yours are the best!
